EPW - A Lange & Söhne, Glashütte, deck watch, observation timepiece (Beobachtungsuhr) with winding indicator, 55mm, rarely seen in massive .900 silver OF HB&B case with German hallmarks, silver cuvette engraved within rectangles, "Werk [works]: A Lange & Söhne Nr 201404, Fertiggestellt [completed or finished]: Andreas Huber, München-Berlin," SW-pin-set, original two-tone silvered dial with sunken WI at 9 and sunken seconds at 3, lever escapement, 16J, gilt mvt, s#201404, the number repeated next to balance for observatory submission and additionally engraved on the case-back. Gross weight of assembled watch 111.0 dwt (172.8 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: GRO, excellent mvt condition overall, small plates scuffs, no oxide; dial near mint; hands near mint; case shows light wear, profuse MFS and FS, very light dents or dings to case-back, a sharp tool-mark across the band and back edges, number detail fading our unevenly; bow pivots freely, crown shows light wear and break; original domed crystal with MFS.
